So as you can see by the last few posts i'm back digging holes. this time in chester ( the old police HQ by the racecourse if you know chester). yes its a bit of a trek in the morning from manchester but the amount of finds kind of makes up for it. considering i only found about 5 pieces of pottery in the whole of last year this is a teasure trove.

its great to be on a site where you can find everyday roman objects all oer thes site. i've been lucky to stumble upon a few personally. first the female head: prob a depiction of a goddess for a a house shrine? and then i found the copper alloy spoon: this would have been for scooping oysters out of shells probably.

then there is the 'colourful' pottery. if you look closely at the picture above.....welll ahem i'll let you work it out.
